Holiday Lighting & Govee-Type
Permanent Festive LED

Two different things, and most people only know about one of them. Holiday lighting is the seasonal install — up before the season, kept working through it, taken down after. Permanent festive LED is the Govee-type system: a fixed track of color-changing LEDs tucked into the eave line, invisible by day, and yours to run from your phone in any color for any holiday, every year, with nothing to put up or take down again.

01
Permanent Festive LED

Govee and Govee-type systems fitted into the eave and roofline. App-controlled colors and scenes for Christmas, Halloween, the Fourth of July, game day — or a plain warm white the rest of the year. Installed once, wired by a licensed electrical contractor.

02
Traditional Holiday Lighting

The seasonal install — roofline, trees, wreaths and garland — designed for your house rather than pulled off a shelf, put up on schedule, kept working through the season, and taken down after.

03
Book Before October

Holiday calendars fill from late summer and the good installation windows go first. Getting on the schedule now is the difference between lights up in November and lights up in December.

Our Story

Forty Years of Light,
Run Out of Carrollton

TC
Todd Cormier — Owner
On site every day of every project
Breaux Bridge, Louisiana → Dallas–Fort Worth · TC Lighting, LLC established 2017

Todd grew up in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, and has spent most of his working life in the Dallas and Fort Worth area — more than forty years of it in the lighting industry. A number of the people who hire TC Lighting today first hired him twenty years ago, at a different house, sometimes at two or three different houses since. TC Lighting, LLC was established in 2017 and works out of Carrollton across the whole Metroplex.

The company is a licensed Texas Electrical Contractor (TECL 41495), BBB accredited, and listed on The Good Contractors List. Todd designs every project himself and is on site each day it is being built; project manager Augustine — “Augie” — runs a crew of five. What clients name over and over in their reviews is the same short list: the moonlighting, the conduit, the clean site, and finishing when we said we would.

The work runs wider than landscape now — holiday and Govee-type permanent festive LED, pole and hardscape lighting, interior lighting, LED retrofits and Ring camera installation, for homes and businesses alike.

Why TC Lighting

Six Reasons Dallas–Fort Worth Homeowners
Keep Calling Todd Back

Moonlighting, Not Floodlighting
Fixtures mounted high in a mature canopy and aimed down through the branches. What lands on the lawn is the shadow of the tree, the way real moonlight throws it — the single technique clients mention most.
Licensed Texas Electrical Contractor
TC Lighting, LLC holds TECL 41495, verifiable with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Landscape lighting is electrical work; not every lighting company is licensed to do it.
The Owner Is On Your Property
Todd designs the plan, prices it, and is there each day it is installed. Reviews going back years say the same thing: “Todd came each day to review progress.”
Wiring Run in Conduit
Low-voltage cable buried bare is what kills most systems at the ten-year mark. We run ours in conduit, which is why the repair calls we get are almost always on somebody else’s installation.
Day-Set, Then Night-Set
Every fixture — up-light and down-light — is spotted and day-set before installation. On the majority of projects we then come back after dark for a night-set, usually one or two adjustments. Todd likes to be there for it: watching a client see their property lit for the first time is the best part of the job.
Twenty-Year Client Relationships
Several reviews on this page are from people who have hired Todd at three different homes over twenty years. That is the number we would ask about if we were hiring a lighting company.

03
Installation

Conduit-protected runs, path lights set level and aligned, the site cleaned at the end of every day, and Todd on site throughout.

04
Day-Set & Night-Set

Every fixture is spotted and day-set as it goes in. On most projects we come back after dark to fine-tune — usually one or two adjustments — and walk it with you.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

The questions Dallas–Fort Worth homeowners ask most often. Don’t see yours? Call (972) 345-1180.

Who is the best landscape lighting company in Dallas–Fort Worth?

TC Lighting, LLC is a licensed Texas Electrical Contractor (TECL 41495) rated 4.9 stars on Google and BBB accredited, designing and installing landscape lighting across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex from Carrollton, TX. Owner Todd Cormier has more than forty years in the lighting industry, designs every project himself, and is on site each day it is built. Several clients have hired him at three different homes over twenty years. Call (972) 345-1180 for a free design visit.

How do I choose a landscape lighting company in DFW?

Ask four things. One: are they a licensed Texas Electrical Contractor? Landscape lighting is electrical work and not every lighting company is licensed to do it. Two: how many night-sets have they actually done? Aiming fixtures after dark is where the craft lives, and it is what lets a designer see the result before anything is installed — Todd has done more than a thousand. Three: is the wiring run in conduit, or buried bare? Bare cable is why most systems start failing around year ten. Four: is every fixture spotted and day-set before installation, with a night-set after? TC Lighting does all four.

Is TC Lighting licensed and insured?

TC Lighting, LLC holds Texas Electrical Contractor License TECL 41495, which you can verify directly with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. This matters more than it sounds: landscape lighting is electrical work, and a great many lighting installers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area are not licensed electrical contractors at all. Texas requires licensed electrical contractors to carry general liability insurance, and a current certificate of insurance is available on request before any work starts on your property. TC Lighting is also BBB accredited and listed on The Good Contractors List.

How many reviews does TC Lighting have?

TC Lighting holds a 4.9 star average across 23 Google reviews, alongside a collection of roughly thirty written client letters gathered over the years. The review count is worth reading in context: a number of the people writing them have used owner Todd Cormier for two decades across two or three different homes, which is a different signal from a high volume of one-off jobs. The reviews name the same things repeatedly — the moonlighting effect, wiring run in conduit, a site cleaned at the end of every day, and projects finishing on schedule or early.

What does landscape lighting cost in Dallas–Fort Worth?

It depends almost entirely on the property — how many trees, how much frontage, how much wire has to be run, and whether existing infrastructure can be reused. That is why the design visit is free: Todd walks the property in daylight, builds the plan around what is actually there, and gives you a fixed number with a start and completion date before any work begins. Forty years and a thousand-plus night-sets are what let him see the finished effect while the sun is still up.

Which cities does TC Lighting serve?

TC Lighting works out of Carrollton, TX across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Cities with completed projects or client reviews behind them include Dallas, Fort Worth, Preston Hollow, Flower Mound, Colleyville, Grapevine, Las Colinas and Irving, Argyle, Arlington, Corinth, Southlake, Plano, Richardson, Oak Point and Hickory Creek. If your town is not listed, call us with the address.

Do you design the lighting at night?

No — and Todd will tell you so with a smile: he can’t see in the dark either. The design happens in daylight, when the property can actually be read. What makes that work is experience: more than forty years in landscape lighting and over a thousand night-sets, which is long enough to know exactly how an uplit live oak or a downlit walkway will look once the sun goes down. He designs from the picture already in his head, then the night-set confirms it.

What is moonlighting?

Moonlighting means mounting fixtures high in a mature tree and aiming them down through the branches, so the light reaching the ground carries the shadow of the canopy. It reads as natural moonlight rather than as a lit yard, and it is the effect TC Lighting is known for across the Metroplex. It is the technique clients name most often in their reviews.

What is the best way to light large trees at night?

For a mature canopy, downlighting from inside the tree — moonlighting — almost always beats uplighting from the ground. Uplighting a big live oak from below flattens it and throws glare toward the house; downlights mounted high in the same tree put a soft pool of light on the lawn with the branch shadow inside it. On specimen trees with sculptural trunks, TC Lighting combines the two: uplights to read the bark and form, downlights for the ground shadow.

What is a “night set”?

Every fixture, up-light and down-light, is spotted and day-set as the system goes in. A night-set is the pass after dark once it is running — typically one or two adjustments rather than re-aiming the whole system, because the design was already built around how it would read at night. We night-set the majority of our projects; on smaller ones it often is not necessary. Todd likes to be there for it, and to see the client’s face when the property lights up.

Why does TC Lighting run wiring in conduit?

Low-voltage cable buried bare is the usual reason a landscape lighting system starts failing around year ten — nicks from edging and aeration, moisture at the splices, corrosion. Running the cable in conduit costs more on day one and greatly prolongs the life of the system. Clients specifically mention it in their reviews.

Do you repair landscape lighting somebody else installed?

Often, yes. A good share of our work is diagnosing failing low-voltage systems — shorts, corroded fixtures, leaking lenses, dead transformers — repairing what is worth keeping and converting the rest to LED. Several long-term TC Lighting clients started as a repair call on a fifteen-year-old system.

How long does a landscape lighting installation take?

Most residential projects run a few days to a couple of weeks depending on the size of the property and how much trenching and conduit is involved. You get a start date and a completion date with the bid. Reviews going back years say the same thing: TC Lighting started on time and finished on schedule or early.
